BC Ringette Media Release: (January 28, 2010)

Prince George Ringette volunteer to receive BC Ringette President’s Award

The British Columbia Ringette Association is very pleased to announce that Keith Sullivan of the Prince George Ringette Association will receive its 2010 President’s Award.

Keith has been selected as this year’s recipient in celebration of his longstanding dedication to the sport of ringette in northern British Columbia and specifically in the Prince George area. His continued commitment to all facets of the sport, from coaching and officiating to executive work at the local association and league levels, has made a sizable contribution to the success of ringette provincially.

Keith has been an active coach with the Prince George Ringette Association since 1980 and has also coached Northern League AA teams, and Zone 8 teams at the BC and Northern BC Winter Games.  Through his coaching, he has taken many teams to tournaments and Provincial Championships across the province and  Western Canada over the years.

Keith has served on the Prince George Ringette Board for many years in various positions including Coaching Director and currently holds the Officiating Director’s position. He has also served on the Northern Ringette League Board of Directors.  Keith continues to be an active BC Ringette on-ice official and volunteers his time at many Northern League tournaments as well as association games in Prince George.

In addition to coaching, officiating and executive duties, Keith has volunteered his time to assist the Prince George Host Committee for the 2000 Canadian Ringette Championships, the 2008 Western Canadian Ringette Championships, and more recently for the upcoming 2010 BC Ringette Provincial “A” Ringette Championships to be held in Prince George in early March.

The President’s Award, presented by Sport BC, will be held in Richmond on March 31st where Keith and other provincial sport winners will be honored for their achievements.
