Ringette Canada announces Team Canada squad
Ottawa, Ontario – January 7, 2010 – Ringette Canada today announced the 31 athletes who have been named to its senior national Team Canada squad. The announcement comes after the conclusion of a Team Canada selection camp that was held in Kitchener, Ontario this past weekend (January 1-4).
The 31 members of the Team Canada squad will continue training for participation in the upcoming 2010 World ringette championship being held in Tampere, Finland from October 31 to November 6, 2010. The playing roster, which will include 22 athletes, will be announced after a training camp being held in May. The team will also participate in training camps in August and September, prior to centralizing in Finland in November. Locations and details regarding the camps are still being finalized.

The three athletes who were released at the camp in Kitchener were: Jill Lange (Vancouver, BC), Melanie Thomas (West Vancouver, BC) and Stefanie McArdle (Ottawa, ON).
The Team Canada coaching staff consists of Toronto’s Lyndsay Wheelans as head coach, J. Jenson (Calgary, AB) and Julie Smith (Pointe-Claire, QC) as assistant coaches, and Tracey Tulloch (Bedford, NS) as team leader/manager.
